I first came to Korea from Glasgow in January 2007 for one year and I’m still here. I’ve lived mostly in Seoul but spent a year living in Wonju where I discovered the fantastic Chiaksan Makgeolli. Years later while supporting Seongnam FC around the country I begin to take makgeolli to the stadiums, not always “legally”, and it was then that I realized just how many different types there were. With more and more Korean craft beers appearing on the market and of course the one and only Soju, it’s safe to say that Korea is a Scotsman’s paradise!
I started this blog in 2019 as a way of recording the best and sometimes the worst of Korean alcohol.
